STEP Victoria – Tasmania Branch invites you to a seminar with Peter Bobbin TEP, Bobbin Lawyers. 

Topic: “Member benefit” or “death benefit” that is the question – A review of recent ATO private binding rulings on the treatment of superannuation ‘withdrawals’ prior to death.   Is there a strategy that can still work?’

This topic will cover:

Peter Bobbin will define the apparent ATO line between a ‘Member benefit” and a “death benefit”.  He will also be describing the situation where advising on it will condemn the relevant recipients to a tax evasion claim by the ATO and in this context what works and what does not. Peter will also address the trust deed situation since this impacts the timing of the right.
